T-shirt: from a rebel’s outfit to a business look

The T-shirt had its origin in the 19th century. At that time American and British marines wore it as underwear. Over the years it developed from an undershirt to an advertising medium and nowadays it is common to be worn as outerwear. In the fifties American teenagers combined the white undershirt with jeans and were then considered the rebellious youth. Today the t-shirt is worn under a suit for a casual business look.

For years the suit combined with a shirt and tie has been a must for the office. But formal business wear has become significantly more casual in recent year. At first self-confident men were dressed in suits without tie. Nowadays they even replace the shirt by a casual, elegant polo or t-shirt.

The focus is on lightness – not only in qualities, but also in the total look.

The t-shirts and polos are made of sophisticated high quality “pima cotton” and offer different styles. Worn in the office under a suit or combined with an elegant chino and a tailored jacket it ensures a relaxed, but well-groomed look. If the tailored jacket is replaced by a blouson, a stylish leisure look is thus created.

Pima cotton is the finest cotton in the world – harvested by hand. It is a single jersey knit fabric offering maximum elasticity while retaining its shape, not to mention a truly silk-soft feel. In addition the fabric offers an unbelievable soft comfort.
